Kari is the Chief Strategy & External Affairs Officer at GMA, where she leads the organization’s long-term strategy and external engagement. She serves as a principal advisor to the CEO and a member of the Leadership Team, driving cross-functional alignment, board strategy, fundraising strategy, strategic partnerships, and communications to advance GMA’s mission and impact. Kari brings a unique blend of experience in corporate operations and executive communications, coupled with a deep background in the negotiation of U.S. climate policy and management of federally funded climate and energy programs. She previously served as deputy lead for the CEO of Apple’s Executive Operations team, where she led principal management and high-impact communications for the CEO and senior executives, helping coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives and global engagements. Prior to Apple, she spent nearly seven years working in the climate and energy space in government, most notably as a climate officer and negotiator at the U.S. Department of State, where she focused on advancing U.S. climate change adaptation priorities on the global stage. Kari is a proud Cornhusker, graduating from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Political Science. She is based in Los Angeles.
